Denver based Discovery employees shave heads, sponsor event and raise over $23,000 to fight childhood cancers.
Denver,
CO September 25, 2013 | Discovery Outsourcing, a leading full service provider of payroll, human resources, risk management, healthcare and benefits solutions for small and medium size business recently organized a charitable event through the St. Baldrick’s foundation raising nearly $24,000 in donations to help fight childhood cancers.
“We've teamed up with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, to have our heads shaved – to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures” stated Todd Beutel, CEO of Discovery
Outsourcing. “Please support us with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in
childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.” Stated Andrew Stohl, CFO of Discovery
Outsourcing.
The 2013 event held at local Irish Pub, Lansdowne Arms, was a huge success. Discovery employees and family members
shaved their heads and gathered in support, raising nearly $24,000. St. Baldrick's began as a head-shaving event and that continues to be the signature event of the Foundation. "Shavees" ask friends and family to make donations "on their head" and in return, they attend one of thousands of volunteer-organized events around the world where they have their heads shaved in solidarity with kids fighting cancer.
Since 2000 more than 230,000 shavees—including more than 22,700 women—have shaved their heads at 5,500 events, raising critical funds for childhood cancer research.
Please join Discovery in donating to fight childhood cancers. Every donation makes a difference.
